Sean McVay, at age 30, is the youngest head coach ever in the history of the NFL. After spending the last several seasons on the Washington Redskins coaching staff, he was hired this offseason by team owner Stan Kroenke to turn the Rams’ fortunes around starting this fall. Considering that the Redskins 2nd best passing offense last season was prolific, racking up 298 yards per game last year (due to Kirk Cousin’s explosive 4,917 passing yards), it is to be expected that the Rams improve their ability to move the football at a better clip than last year, when they finished at the bottom of the league in offense by nearly all measures.
McVay is also known to pedal his way to work: reportedly, he bought his bike from a Redskins equipment manager before training camp last summer, and started bike commuting with the rest of the coaching staff. He approaches commuting with the level of strategy you’d expect from a coach, explaining to the Post, “You can get going where you go the same speed as the cars if you hit the lights at the right time.”
According to bicycling.com:
“The Redskins aren’t the only ones using bikes to get ahead in the NFL: Plenty of football players, like Denver Broncos safety David Bruton Jr., use cycling for cross-training. Plus, if Rams quarterback Case Keenum sticks with his new bike commuting habit, McVay will even have someone to ride with out in LA.”
Stay Strong,
