Before tonight’s kickoff between the Rams and San Francisco, there was expected attention on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, his pre-game protest taking place during the national anthem and which players may join him in solidarity.
Two Rams, defensive end Robert Quinn and wide receiver Britt, raised their fists during the rendition of the national anthem:
Kaepernick took a knee, along with teammate Eric Reid. Fellow 49ers Eli Harold and Antoine Bethea also raised a fist in the air.
It is worth noting that the Rams made headlines in fall 2014 when receivers Tavon Austin, Stedman Bailey, Kenny Britt, Jared Cook and Chris Givens came out of the tunnel with their hands up as a show of support to the community during the Ferguson, Missouri demonstrations, which were taking place at the time.
